DiscoveryBot team is comprised of seven San Diego State University seniors majoring in the fields of Electrical and Computer Engineering. We are designing and constructing a vehicle that can autonomously navigate within an open space and deliver a payload to multiple predetermined locations that are provided as GPS coordinates. The vehicle will be operated via two ARM Cortex-M0 microncontrollers: one for the navigation system and another one for the mechanical control system. The navigation system will be responsible for directing the vehicle to the target location and determining the shortest distance that can be traveld. The mechanical control system will work in conjunction with the navigation system and will be responsible for the movement of the vehicle and the operation of the payload delivery mechanism. The final design will enable the vehicle to move toward the delivery location and drop the payload with both accuracy and speed.
